Schmidt Electronics is a major integrated technology and service provider in Asia with over 40 years of experience in the electronics industry in the Asia-Pacific region. Schmidt Electronics has been servicing the high-end PCBA and semiconductor industries for over 20 years.

On 13 September 2005, Schmidt Technology Limited was incorporated in Hong Kong as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Schmidt Electronics. The principal business of Schmidt Technology Limited was the technical and sourcing businesses relating to high-end PCBA and the electronic packaging industry. Its name was subsequently changed to ¡®First Technology China Limited¡¯ on 7 April 2006.

In January 2007, First Technology China Limited was 100% acquired by Sojitz Corporation. Sojitz Corporation is a sogo shosha (general trading company) created through the merger of Nichimen Corporation and Nissho Iwai Corporation, both of which have over a century of trading business history. Sojitz conducts its operations in around 50 countries worldwide through roughly 500 consolidated subsidiaries and affiliated companies in Japan and overseas. As of March 2006, Sojitz has a total of 17,213 employee worldwide and a net sales of US$42.5 billion.
